Ayuni! Ayuni!

Most of the time I will respond to my name being called by turning my head to where my name comes from. I have started blowing mini bubbles and making noises with my lips. I like to say... Abuu... and with pursed lips sometimes. I have also started to roll to my side while lying on my back before rolling back to my back. Nenek said my pantat too heavy to roll over!

Ayah will play with me and sometimes put me on my tummy on the bed or his chest. Ibu would come in our room and then look and laugh at me. In the mornings, when Ibu is sleepy and I keep on stretching or making noisy noise after breastfeed, she would put me on my tummy on Ayah's body or arms while Ayah is fast asleep.

During naps in the day time, Ibu would put me to sleep on my tummy and I will sleep very soundly. Ibu would keep watch on me and makes sure my head and face is in a safe position. On days I cannot sleep or when Nek Long came over, Ibu and Nenek would bring me to Nohyang's place. I would nap on Nohyang's bed beside her. Ibu have been busy buying and packing my things for me to prep me for Nek Cha Day Care!

My Hari Raya Haji Sheep

It was a gloomy and rainy day on Hari Raya Haji Eve. My sheep was due to be slaughtered for sacrifice at Masjid Al-Ansar in the afternoon. Nenek didn't let Ibu bring me along. So, I was packed off to spend my afternoon with Nek Cha and Nohyang.

On Hari Raya Haji, Ibu was getting me and herself ready when Mak Long came. Ibu dolled me up in my white dress under pink sleepsuit. It was a cold day so it was not too warm. Nenek carried me to Nohyang's place. There were lots of my relatives there and everyone was talking noisily. I was made to sit down to take photos. So, I sat down quietly and posed. You can see the nice photos on Nada's blog! After a while, Nek Yah carried me for a while and some more photos. Soon, Ibu gave me breastmilk in a bottle to drink. She said we were going out, so I better drink my milk first.

We went to Tok Anja & Nek Yah's (my paternal granduncle & grandaunt) place at Siglap and Jut's (paternal great-grandfather) place at Bedok South. I was asleep most of the time. We never spend much time there. We reach home in the late evening and spent the rest of our quite time at home.

Places I've Gone!

Since last Friday, Ibu and Ayah has been bringing me out almost everywhere they go. Its has been tiring but fun when I get to spend more time with Ayah. Ayah has not been going to work and always wake me and Ibu up in the mornings. Most of the time I am asleep when Ibu and Ayah stepped out of our home. Sometimes, I'm awake in my stroller with my eyes wide open. But the comfy ride in my stroller will soon make me fall asleep.

On Friday, we were off to the POSB bank in Tampines. I only woke up in my stroller when we were in the cosy bank with 3 grown up children cooing over me from behind. They even touched my hair! Halfway Ayah had to go for his Friday prayers so Ibu decided to push me to a baby room in Century Square to breastfeed me and change my soiled diaper. Back to the bank, I was tired so I started to cry my cranky cry. Ibu had to put me to sleep while Ayah stood at the counter. I got my POSBkids account with lots of money inside! Ibu said I am very rich for a 2 month old kid. Later on I woke up hot and sweaty in our new but still unfinished home. Ibu brought me down the void deck to breastfeed me. When we finally reached home, Ayah keep on saying "Bus kena banned! No more bus. Only taxi or mrt!" Ayah was complaining that my stroller is too bulky to be brought onto the bus.


Saturday came and the afternoon passed quickly as I was mostly asleep and it was a wet rainy afternoon. In the evening, Ibu prep me to go out. I woke up in Ibu's sling while Ibu was choosing 3 Dr. Suess books in the brand new Borders in Parkway Parade. Then, it was to the Baby Room for my breastfeed and poo-poo time while Ayah waited patiently outside. Ibu and Ayah was walking and Ibu decided to get me a hair clip. Ibu tried a hairclip on me and Ayah finally chose one for me. While Ibu was wearing me my brand new hair clip, a stranger passed by looking at me and saying, "Look! The baby so cuteeee!" Ibu remembered that there is a Best store and so we went there. It was very noisy when we went in and Ibu said the sound is very loud. Soon, I fall asleep again in cosy cosy sling. Ibu and Ayah spent a lot of time in there and heard them talking about LCD TV, fridge, washing machine, Panasonic, LG and many others. Nenek soon arrived and carried me in my sling while Ibu was at the counter writing, writing and writing on a thick booklet of coupons. We stepped in a place smelt something like chicken after Ayah and Ibu discussed about where to eat and said KFC. Ibu went off after we settle down at a table and came back with many photos of me! And Ayah came back with a tray of food. Soon, we headed home in a cab. I was quirming in Ibu's arms and got to drink milk from Ibu on the way home while Ibu was busy talking to Nenek about what nots.




On Sunday, my Mak Long came over and we spent the afternoon in Nenek's room. I kept drifting in and out of sleep. I only sleep soundly after my Mak Long told me to sleep coz I'm going out in the evening. Ibu prep me to go out and Ah Long took pictures of me and Nenek when Nenek came home. In the taxi ride to my paternal grandparent's home in Sengkang, Ah Long carried me. The ride was scary at first. It even more scary when a gigantic bus zoomed past the taxi very loudly and frightened me! Over at Sengkang, my cousins came over and we were there throughout the night. I was sitting in Ibu's lap while Ibu talked to my aunt. After a long while, my aunt said my face looks like something is not right. Soon, I started crying loudly for milk. We went home very late at midnight. I soon fall asleep in the car ride home while being patted by Ibu and listening to my Ayah talking to my uncle and his friend.



Monday is stay home Monday coz Ayah is at work. I sleep alot especially after a tiring day out and wake up just for bathe and feeds. In the afternoon, I woke up surrounded by my Nek Cha, my Pak Busu, my Ibu and my Moyang. I was in an unfamiliar room and looked at my Ibu. My Nek Cha said I am looking for my Ibu and only wants to look at Ibu. We spent time with my Moyang who just came back after spending 1 month away in 2 hospitals. It was the first time I saw her. The first and last time Ibu brought me to see Moyang, I was asleep and just came back from hospital at 2 days old.

Tuesday, I slept very soundly for the first 2 and half hours of shopping at Ikea with Ibu, Ayah and Mak Long. In between shopping was trips to the Baby Room for breastfeeding, poo poo and diaper changes. It was a cosy and spacious Baby room with mood lightning. In between shopping was times when I insist to be held just to fall asleep. But I always ended up in my stroller again! It was a long day of shopping and Ibu looked she can go flat anytime at the end of the day!

A Book to Be Read in Utero.

I was having my morning nap in Ibu's arms when Ibu found this book in Baby Center Store. Comments from customers are positive! Some parents even memorised the book and their babies recognised it right after birth.

I just turned 2 months old on Monday, 10 December. When I was 1 month old, I had most of the skills in the growth milestone for 1 month. I even can do things a few kids can do.

I get lots of neck exercises with my Ayah who likes to put me on my tummy. My Nenek likes to makes alot of sound especially when she sees me in the morning, during her lunchtime and after she comes home from work. She likes to disturbs me when I'm being breastfed sometimes. I get distracted by her noise and would turn to look! I stare at many faces, especially those who are always around me. That's at least 3 different ones, my Ibu, Ayah & Nenek.

Ibu thinks I have been very noisy. She don't like it when I'm crying loudly especially. But I would sometimes talk to myself. Ibu would notice it sometimes because it is sometimes quite loud. I would even yell out a short one! I like to see the ceiling lamp coz it has black and white patterns. Most recently, Ibu had given me more to look at with her experiment on me.

When someone says nice or funny things about me, I will smile. Sometimes, I even give a wide smile as if laughing. So far, I can hold my head up and my head don't roll around so much like last time. But I still need neck support most of the time coz my neck is not as strong as it seems.

Before I turn 3 months which is when Ibu goes back to work : ( ...

I think I would be able to do all that because Ayah likes to play with me alot. Ayah says he is fun and Ibu is very overprotective. Ibu tells me to cry if Ayah carries me in a uncomfortable or dangerous position. Ayah likes to made me stand and see how tall i am. He even ask me to walk!

Experiments and Projects

Experiement No.1 :

Last Sunday, I was lying down in my bed when Ibu placed cardboards with black and white patterns beside me. Ibu is surprised that I looked at it for quite sometimes on and off. There are many many patterns, all in white and black. Sometimes, I looked at it quite intently as it is very interesting. Ibu would flip it over after a while and there will be another black and white pattern. When I was on Ibu and Ayah's gigantic bed, it would be placed upright beside me. My nenek even placed it beside me when I was in my moses' basket. It is one of Ibu's many experiments. But I still like looking at the living room ceiling lamp when it is switched off.

Experiement No.2 :

This afternoon, Ibu brought me out for a walk at noon. It was not too sunny as it was cloudy. Ibu covered half my face with her sling. But I did feel the sun on my face a few times. I smelt some strong spicy smell while Ibu was walking. Later on, Ibu told nenek my face changed when we walked past the prata shop and smelt curry. We went in a shop and there were so things to look up all the way to the ceiling. Ibu was looking for something and finally found it when she was squating down for a whie. On the way back home, my face was out of the sling and the cool breeze blew on my face and made me sleepy. Back at home, Ibu had her hands all white. Ibu tried putting my feet on a cool and wet surface a few time. I had white sticky thing all over my feet and Ibu wiped it off for me. Ibu was keeping saying.. "Cannot ah, Ayuni!" and sounded disappointed. It was cosy to sit in Ibu's lap and I was watching the TV while Ibu was busy with my feet. Soon, I poo poo-ed, so Ibu had to attend to me...

Experiement No.3 :

Late at night, my nenek carried me in yet another sling. My nenek has used many slings that she made for me, on me. Sometimes, it is plain yellow in colour. Sometimes, it is pale green with flowery pattern. Most of the time, it is very comfy and cosy. I will be a model for Nenek's sling after she is at her gigantic machine for hours at night.

Project No.1 :

Ibu made this for me when she was bored. She had to used my newborn photo as she had no other printed photo of me. Ibu once showed me a huge photo of myself but I did not react to it. I think I did not know that it was me.

PS: On Sunday, Ibu said my mittens had my Mak Long's scent. That was when Ibu smelt my mittens when changing it after Mak Long left.

First Morning Walk

Today, Ibu finally brought me down for my first morning walk. It was a cold and wet morning coz it was raining the day and night before. I was still sticky and smelly in my pink sleepsuit and Ibu carried me in her brand new lime green Mums in Mind sling.

It was cosy and warm, just nice for the cold weather. I looked around me while Ibu walked down the stairs and along the walkways. Everything looked so different. Ibu says I open my eyes very wide and she showed me the trees and some black birds. I saw a few children in green uniform and their parents going to this place with colourful walls outside.

Ibu headed to the nearby shop to get newspapers. The indian person asked Ibu what is my name and he said it sounded japanese like Ayumi Hamasaki. He wanted to see my face so Ibu turn so that I face him. When Ibu sat down for a while, it was too warm so I tried to wriggle around. Ibu cuddle me tighter and walked back home.

New Big Bed to sleep in

Today, Ibu put me in a big bed. It smelt new and is much bigger than my moses' basket. It had tall frames over all sides and Ibu have to bend down to reach me. The view was very different. But it is still smaller than Ibu and Ayah's gigantic bed.

It was very warm sleeping in my moses' basket especially at night. Ibu said Nenek bought for me the bed yesterday. Ibu put my favourite musical teddy bears mobile and Mr. Rabbit over my bed. I was lying down quietly while Nenek wiped the wooden frames. Ibu started to take out her sticker books and paste many different cartoon character stickers all over the frames where I can see. Some stickers are small but all of them are very colourful. Ibu and nenek wind my mobile for me a few times. When I enjoy the mobile, I will kick my legs into the air like a windmill. Sometimes my arms too. But today, I did not becoz I was getting used lying down in my bed and getting used to the view.

Soon Ayah reach home from work and looked over me while I lay down quietly. Ayah seemed surprised and ask me if I have a new bed.
